Easy Pieces - Anthony Jackson

How many of you have ever heard this album? It was released in 1988. It was group that included Anthony Jackson along with Hamish Stuart and Steve Ferrone (AWB) and vocalist Renee Geyer. The music is decent late 1980's pop with the typical period production values (heavy drums, sequencing, some keyboard bass). What sets this apart, of course, is AJ's bass. As always, the man sound great! I got back into this album recently when I found a basically new cassette copy in my car. What really has me buzzing is that I forgot how good Anthony Jackson sounds playing with a pick! I got my heavy gauge picks out this weekend and I intend to do some pick practice regularly to get back some speed and technique.

I have that CD. I wish they could redo it without the 80's production, I love everybody in the band. I remember at the time I thought it would be the album that broke Renee Geyer to American audiences, not to be I guess.

Hmm, I might have to hunt that one out. If anything, the 80's production values make it better for me, I love that 80's sound and vibe!

Back in the day, I loved that '80s production/sound (David Foster, et al).
NO MAS!!!
I still think Arif Mardin's '80s style of production was 'it'.
