There's an album called "Masada Rock" which are a bunch of Masada compositions performed by Rashanim. I highly HIGHLY recommend this album. http://www.myspace.com/rashanim

Band members are Joey Baron drums, Trevor Dunn bass, and Mike Patton "vocals". (When you listen to it you'll see why i put vocals in quotes )

I wish I could find a DVD or something of some of the more professionally shot Electric Masada stuff on YouTube. If anyone has a lead on that, CONTACT ME

I believe this is Trevor Dunn here?
Love the Masada and Naked City stuff. |

John Zorn is the man, I've actually been getting more into his compositions like Elegy and various Filmworks lately. Too bad some of his stuff is so hard to find. |

Anyone interested in this kind of music would be wise to call or email him and have him suggest some cd's.

As regarding the Moonchild cycle (Moonchild, Astronome, Six Litanies for Heliogabalus) "Litanies" really smokes with the addition of Ikue Mori (electronics), Jamie Saft (organ) and a 3-female chorus to the original line-up of Patton, Dunn & Baron.
I'd also recommend to anyone "Asmodeus: Book of Angels #7" (new Masada compositions) performed by the trio of Marc Ribot, Trevor Dunn & Calvin Weston ... enough said.
