Eva Cassidy- So beautiful

Got turned on to Eva Cassidy the other day. I have rarely been so moved by a singer. She's on YouTube as well as available commercially. Hard to listen to her without tears welling up. Seems like the really, really good ones are taken from us early.

I'm also a fan of Eva Cassidy. Her versions of True Colors and Time After Time are beautiful tracks. All of her work is very moving.

It is definitely sad that she passed away at such a young age. I don't remember which song it is in, but there is a song of hers that starts out with a short introduction or dedication to her parents. It's pretty sad.

I'm a big fan! She was another overlooked great artist by the major labels that didn't fit whatever image they were looking for. It was her bassist Chris Biondo that recognized her talent and recorded most of her legacy. When she covered a song, she owned it, I dig her version of Fields Of Gold over Sting's.

Yeah this girl's amazing. I have the two studio releases (I think that's all she had time for, correct me if I'm wrong here).

She also did a live album and a album with Go-Go great Chuck Brown.

I am most affected by artists who bring the goods with their hands or voice in as natural a state as possible. She played a wonderful guitar (notice her timing and intonation as she picks), and of course, her singing is in a class of its own.

There is something haunting about the fact that she was taken early; I wonder if I would be as affected had she not passed. I think not, and at least her legacy endures unsullied by any commercial constraints that might have been imposed on her music- you feel her heart, and that's what an artist gives, I think.
