For fans of Level 42, Brett Garsed, Otmaro Ruiz

Hi everybody,

I just completed my solo album, and was lucky to get some awesome musicians to back me up, including Albert Wing (Frank Zappa band), Brett Garsed (Planet X), Otmaro Ruiz (John McLaughlin), Mike Shapiro (Lee Ritenour) and Ross Bolton (Al Jarreau).

There's also lots of good bass stuff on there. Should appeal to fans of Mark King, Incognito, and Jeff Berlin. Please visit my site to have a listen:

I can vouch for this. I bought the cd last week. Very good disc and very refreshing to listen to. If you're looking for good solid playing without all the chopsfest/pyrotechnic gimmickery, this is the disc for you.

Trust me.

Sorry but the website is poor.Who chose the colour scheme? Got sore eyes trying to read the various tags, finally left in dismay.Didn't hear a thing.Marketing is as important as the quality of the music and if you can't connect with the public then you will always be a bedroom virtuoso.

Sorry you found my site difficult to read. Most people have complimented me on the site so far, but perhaps I'll make some changes if I get any more complaints. In the meantime, you can also hear samples of all my songs at CD Baby:

Or on myspace:

ermmm, the website is the first connection to the public but as I said, the choice of colours are uncomplimentary;the mp3 section with dark red against a black background Got bored and left before listening to any samples.

I've acknowledged that some people are going to like my web site, and some won't. That's the way it goes. And I've also offered two alternate locations where people can go to listen. Can we please try to focus the rest of this discussion on my music? Here again are all three links, take your choice:

http://dougross.net

http://cdbaby.com/cd/dougross

http://myspace.com/dougrossmusic

And thank you very much for all of the nice compliments so far!
