Hey Peeps
Just made a new version of a song from my album 'Homespun' but performed the main bass part live - all other parts are pre-recorded - anyway hope you like it"
'Traveler' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-Eqj6pdqgc
I just had the action re-set on my bass and it's got me shedding again...
Cheers

| | | Nice! I always enjoy your clips, and you just get better and better and better and better. Beautiful tone and playing!
PS I'm with you by the way on the set-up. I spent years micro adjusting truss rods and battling fret buzzes with stupid low action. About 10 years ago, I went to a more 'medium' action and more standard gauge strings, and it is a beautiful thing. It sounds better, you can dig in more, and I now adjust the neck every other year or so |

By the way I've enjoyed your YT gear test vids a lot too, good work
Cheers

Hope you dig it

Yes I do try and play stuff that I've been working on as well as I can and I admit my videos aren't perfect - but for me it's about sharing my progress - I wish I could play better believe me but this sort of thing is 'do or die' if you don't take risks and prepare yourself to fail then you'd never do it - improvising is just about the hardest thing you can do and do well in music - learning a cmplex piece note for note is hard as well I admit - but letting go enough of your concious thought processes and letting your instincts take over is where it's at - and it's hard to do that without being concious of what you are doing - but being aware enough to direct your ideas where you want them to go. Gary Willis said recently he prefers playing when he's tired as he's less aware of what he's doing and I would agree with that - I often play best first thing in the morning before my brain has fully woken up!
Thanks for watching and I'll keep the vids coming as and when I feel I have something to say
Cheers
