That's my opinion.

Second of all, I did not ASK ANYONE WHY he didn't
play his fastest often in his official records!
All I did was to point it out!!!

I wasn't answering your question specifically, nor did I think enough of it to warrant this response.

It's not all about you, Jazz.

Well, you used a direct quote from my post, so it
sure looks like you were specifically answering it.

And now, in this post, you once again refer to my post
as being a question which it is not. When somebody so evidently responds to my post, It's my right to react
without being accused of thinking that the world
evolves around me.

to loosen up a little

Yes we did. Thank you, Bruce.

And for the record, I do not think the world evolves around you, Jazz.

Evolves/revolves... I got you, Bruce. Sometimes it's quite quick, ya know?

AND...

It's just amazing how one badly worded post can send a thread to hell.

Wink

The 'faster' threads always interest me.Many people dismiss or demean fast playing as some kind of untalented egoboost.I don't.

Bach wrote many fast and technical pieces and was never slanted for it,was he?
Beethoven too,has a few tasty piano works out there.
Oscar Petterson? Nuff said.

I saw it mentioned once on the first page already, but I think it's worth mentioning again!
Jaco did an album with Pat Metheny, Paul Bley and Bruce Ditmas in 74. The artist's name is listed as "Pastorius, Metheny, Ditmas, Bley", but nowadays it's just titled "Jaco". A little hard to find, but an amazing album and well worth the money.
The song Batterie (which can be found on the "PunkJazz" Anthology) has some incredible stuff on it, both speed and otherwise. The music on this album is really weird, kinda hard to catagorize. When I listen to it, I think of it as experimental jazz. Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is....
GET THIS ALBUM

Listen to "If You Could See Me Now" from
"Live In New York vol.3." The music
sounds very unorganized at times, but it
contains some really speedy stuff.
Listen to the whole song to hear it all
(it lasts vell over 15 minutes.)

Also listen to the song "Honestly part 2" at about 3:29
into the song, "History" from "Live In New York vol. 7",
and "Round Trip & Broadway Blues" from the album
"Bright Size Life" with Pat Metheny.
