| | | Both Albums by Twenty one Pilots, Vessel and a self titled one. Honestly the first band whose lyrics have connected to me personally and their live show is absolutely Killer. Their music is really weird and has very heavy keyboards and the drummer is really good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pmv8aQKO6k0

The Crucified - The Pillars of Humanity. This is as close to the music in my head that I have ever heard.

It's a great album for the Summer. I highly recommend the deluxe reissue that has a couple extra demos and tracks on it.

Genesis - Wind and Wuthering - the first album after Gabriel left, it has some of Genesis VERY best material (Eleventh Earl of mar, One for the Vine, Blood on the Rooftops) it is strangely overlooked!
kd lang - Ingenue - other than the hit "Constant Craving," this album is magnificent. We know the vox are flawless and intimate, but the songwriting - with Ben Mink's thoughtful input - is superb.
Queen - Sheer Heart Attack - IMHO their best work from the proto-metal "Stone Cold Crazy" to "Now I'm Here" and John Deacon's first colo controbution "Misfire" - this album, apart from teh hit "Killer Queen" isn't nearly as well known as it should be, probably bc it was followed by "A Night at the Opera" which seems to define Queen's catalog. AWESOME album.

Big Big Train - Their 2 latest releases, the Underfall Yard and English Electric, Part 1, with new singer David Longdon are fantastic. Any fans of old Genesis from the Gabriel to early Collins days (when they were still more of a progressive outfit) will appreciate these albums. |

Bear with me, because it's not an album aimed at bass guitarists. But it's still superb. I'd like to present the jury this live version of the second track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UEGcIpxJXU
(Saw her live a few months after it was released. One hell of a performer.)

Local band, released last year and made it to i think 102 in the UK album charts, all from self promotion. One of the best albums i've heard for years if you're into the pop rock/pop punk stuff. Some lovely bass playing and tones too.
