The Flower Kings - Flower Power

Fantastic Swedish Prog that really should garner more fans and accolades.

Listen to this... Give it a chance to bloom. It's super long, but worth the time you put in...

Hum had a hit with their song "stars"
but their last album "downward is heavenward" is truly amazing. Not that no one's heard of it, but no one mentioned it yet.

I've got to go with a couple of Texas bands:

Rock Music Machine by Adam's Farm

The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads by Lift to Experience

It's almost criminal that the latter band did not receive more recognition (maybe it was the terrible fake-rap-album-parody cover?), but they sound like Jeff Buckley fronting Disintegration-era Cure, rocking their way through the Apocalypse.

Downward is Heavenward is an all time top 10 for me. Great album, all of it.

Good call.

It is and it isn't by Gordon Haskell fresh off of his stint with king crimson. Sort of Jackson brown James taylorish in some spots, but what stands out for me is that it has future crimson bass player/vocalist John wetton laying down some tasty bass, Hammond organ and backing vocals. Seek it out, look for it on YouTube, last I saw Gordon Haskell had a MySpace page that had the tracks from the album available. Really can't say enough about this album, bought it from a pawn shop 20 years ago and it's one that stuck with me
