Among electric bassists there are likely to be at least a few songs most of us know.
Here's a candidate:
"You're Still A Young Man" - Tower of Power |

Probably almost everybody knows "Mustang Sally", but I bet it is nobodies favorite |

Then there's the International faves..........Achy Beaky Heart....Aaaaaggghhh!!!!!
American Pie...............;-( & yrs ago- when I 1st started gigging it was 'Running Bear' & American Pie, then Piano Man---all these songs make me (silently) cringe whilst onstage!!! btw- we don't play ANY of 'em!! Ha!

Billy Joel - "We Didn't Start the Fire"
Don McLean - "American Pie"
Trisha Yearwood - "She's in Love With the Boy"
- basically the same crap that gets played at karaoke bars in America!
If I were to name my favorite song that I had heard played somewhere outside North America, it would be:
The Police - "So Lonely" (live version played multiple times daily on Nigerian radio)

Great music is timeless. |

Most universally known? Probably a Beatles tune - Let It Be, Yesterday, something like that.
Or maybe Why Don't We Do It In The Road? (jk) |

You have always struck me as having a taste for more obscure bands/genres. Hmmmm.
I like "Feel Like a Number". Some of those older Detroit guys can rock. Like Nugent before he became a fool.
Fav band as a band: Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers.
These guys know how to stay out of each others way. Wish they would've kept Stan. **** Jimmy Iovine. Ferrone is an ace though.
Lots of hits. "The Waiting" and "Change of Heart" are two I like.
First two albums are my favorites
