Favorite Internet Radio Stations

My computer is being exchanged so my I Tunes are in storage for the moment and am forced to listen to Internet Radio.

So far my favorite is Attention Span Radio- a great mix of Jazz, Rock and progressive music. Some wicked bass playing going on here.

What are some of your favorite stations?

i usually just stream a feed from columbus, Ohio's completely fantastic NPR station, wcbe.

great music programming all day long! jammy stuff, world music, a nice mix of all kinds of stuff, as well as the standard NPR goodness.

EDIT: oh, wait! you know what, i just found out about this site last friday. give it a spin: http://www.songerize.com/

Pandora.com is a fantastic service and a great way to discover new music. You start a new "station" by selection songs or artists that you like. Then as songs are playing, you can give them a thumbs up or thumbs down. It analyzes the characteristics of the song (ie major/minor tonality, BPM, heavy groove, etc - over 400 in all) and then plays more music with the qualities that you like. It works really well and after a while, your stations get fine tuned and play music that you will like. They call it the "Music Genome Project"

As an added bonus, you can easily get more information on the artists you're listening to while the station is playing and even purchase the music through iTunes and Amazon.com's new MP3 store (my new favorite, too... =)

This explains it better:

I had Pandora set up on my old computer. I liked it except sometimes it was laggy, when working and would only allow me to skip so many songs at a time.

Besides Pandora, a big +1 to this.

Although I guess for me it doesn't count: it's well in range to I listen to it old school on FM 92.7

Last.fm - You type the name of an artist you like and it plays suggestions that you might also enjoy.
