Favorite Maiden song?

Sign in to disble this ad
I was listening to "Live After Death" today and was curious what everyone's favorite Madien tune is. Not that there is an incredible amount of difference between Maiden songs, but you can still pick a favorite.

Mine would be "2 Minutes to Midnight" as done on the above mentioned live record. Runner up would be "The Trooper".

Honorable mention would have to go to Cradle of Filth's "Shallow Be The Grave", their cover of "Hallowed Be Thy Name", or Sentenced's cover of "The Trooper"

That's why they only got honorable mentions...seriously though, have you heard either of these coverse? They are quite cool, actually the Cradle cover rivals any version of Hallowed I've ever heard from Maiden, especially the original studio track with its oh so hip disco hi-hat

'Hallowed Be Thy Name'. I don't think they ever topped that. 'Revelations' comes very, very close though.

Other honourable mentions are 'Aces High', 'Paschendale', 'The Trooper', and 'Phantom of the Opera'. They have so many great songs though, it's too hard to choose!

Also, Iced Earth's cover of 'Hallowed Be Thy Name' is very good.

Steve Harris rules my metal bass universe.

Anything from Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, or The Number of the Beast or Powerslave or Piece of Mind or Killers or Somewhere in Time or No prayer for the the Dying or Fear of the Dark or Brave New World or Dance of Death. etc, etc.

In fact anything not including Blaze Bailey.

and my favorite Iron Maiden cover is "What's my age again" performed by Blink 182.

and stuff...

All of'em without Dickenson. The Paul years were my favorite.
