Progressive rock, is rock that combines other styles of music, or so says the mighty google search. Its a broad genre and Its among my favorites. I am a Prog nerd and play it everyday with my band. So , name your 7 favorite Prog Albums. If you question if something is prog or not , then post it anyway and im sure it will be discussed. So , go ahead , if you cant name 7 , then name as many as you can. So lets hear em TBers!
Heres mine, in no order:
1.Yes- Close to the Edge
2. Yes - Tales of Topographic Oceans
3. King Crimson - Lizard
4. Procol Harum- Salty Dog
5. Kansas-Leftoverture
6. Emerson, Lake , and Palmer - Tarkus
7.God Speed You!Black Emperor - Lift Your Skinny Fists like Antennes to Heaven.

Yes - Fragile
King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King
Rush - Moving Pictures
All are landmark albums, I think.

ELP - self titled
King Crimson - Starless and Bible Black
GSY!BE - F#AOO
Rush - Permanent Waves
The Mars Volta - Deloused in the Comatorium
Opeth - Blackwater Park
Honorable Mention (though people who over-categorize genres might not agree with calling them Prog)
Candiria - 300 Percent Density, mixes metal, hip hop, jazz, and ambient soundscapes; sounds like prog to me.

I remember more than a few "Chops-buster" videos/songs that he has posted here (Classical Thump, Chromatic Fantasy, etc.) |

I really like Absent Lovers - Live in Montreal 1984 but I've also been really digging Heavy ConstruKction as well. I've always been a fan of the 1980's era Crimso and I really like Three of a Perfect Pair too. It's pretty surprising that two people in a row listed Lizard as their favorite Crimso.
I also really like:
Genesis - Lamb Lies Down and Selling England by the Pound
Magma - Live, Kohntarkoz <sp>
