Favorite Record Label?

Sign in to disble this ad
What's your favorite record label in terms of the bands on it?

Mine would either be Sargent House or Warp

Sargent House has a ton of great bands (bygones, Tera Melos, Lisa Papineau, Zechs Marquise, etc) and RLP Productions, but Warp has one of my favorite bands Battles.

What's yours?

Atlantic? Warner, which owns Atlantic, or maybe Epic or Columbia. Motown. That's pretty sweeping, but hey, they have the artists I like.

Either Load, because it has nearly every cool band I'm finding out about these days, Ipecac, because of the Melvins (duh.), Hydrahead, because EVERYTHING ON THERE IS DOOMY GOODNESS, or Asian Man, because Mike Park is the greatest person on the planet.

have to disagree,... hydra head records for making doomy goodness and roadrunner for sometimes making good bands brought to the masses,... they stuffed up middle era machine head and nothing needs to be said about nickelback (ages ago I believe there was a question of why they were on a metal label and the between the lines answer was they sell records and make money so why not,...) can be a good thing as my fav still kind of underground bands being promoted that wouldn't normally get a hearsay get heard.

That and also good for finding a genre of music (ie feel like listening to this genre, hydra head will always have good doom, nuclear blast will always have good european metal, roadrunner will have good american metal etc etc)

I think Jimmy was being sarcastic... You know someone was bound to say that sooner or later.
