With the recent Donald Fagen release "Sunken Condos" that has quite a few tunes I like - I have been spinning lots of other Fagen & Steely Dan tunes. I noticed my favorite tunes lean more to the Apocalyptic, Sci Fi, crime and chick themed tunes. Today's list was:
Green Flower Street
Goodbye Look
H Gang
Security Joan
Jack Of Speed
Green Book
Pixeleen
Godwhacker
Razor Boy
Your gold Teeth
King Of The World
Chain Lightning
Sign in Stranger
The Fez
Green Earrings
The Royal Scam
Aja
Peg
Needless to say SD is one of my favorite bands, even my 79 yo Dad dig's the Dan, took him a copy of Sunken Condos for the holidays. |

The GoodBye Look
Kid Charlemagne
Aja
Dirty Work
But some of the new stuff, like Snowbound and Things I miss the Most keep going through my head.
And West of Hollywood with that incredible sax solo? Holy S**t! And what is that diabolical chord progression anyway?
Just BTW - I was very fortunate once when I visited my friend's studio many years ago and found someone else in there mixing, to my surprise. They said I was welcome to stay and and I sat quietly while they finished the last song, and it became apparent after a while that they were Steely Dan!! I'm glad I was sitting down. Then, Roger Nichols cut up and rearranged the master tape and ran it there in the control room, and I was the first non-band person to hear Pretzel Logic. Floored me.

To hard to do... | I think it was Reelin In The Years that really put this band on the map. I think it made top 40 pop back in '73...
Always liked Steely Dan. Unlike many other band of the era, they sounded pretty much the same live as they did on their studio releases.
edit: Actually, it was "Do It Again" (1972) that put them on the map. But im stickin' with Reelin as my favourite.
