...it's not quite a "P"; IIRC, it has some "J" pickups added in there, too.

Shoot.... Where do I start? Uh, the tunes with impeccable musicianship? In other words, just about almost kinda sorta all of 'em.

Any!

I was a top 40 radio DJ from early '70s to mid '80s (at which point I grew up and got a real job...). Even playing SD's hit songs in heavy rotation was tolerable, due to the virtuosity of the studio musicians, the inventiveness of Becker and Fagen as songwriters and lyricists, and the spine-tinglingly awesome vocals.

Of course I am partial to "FM"--no static at all. "Rikki Don't Lose That Number" contains the world's greatest quickie guitar solo IMHO. The bass line in "Reelin' in the Years" is just rockin'.

I couldn't pick a favourite tune/ album. I tend to listen to the guitar-heavy albums (Can't Buy a Thrill/ Countdown to Ecstacy/ The Royal Scam) less often than the others. Although now that I think of it, thats a lie. Two Against Nature doesn't get enough love. Great album!

Ah yesss, Steely Dan!

Ahh awesome song indeed! I was lucky enough to be in the front for the VHI Storytellers show for that tour. My girlfriend, now wife, and I had a fantastic evening and have the CD of the show. The drummer that eve gave her his drumsticks.

...also like Glamour Profession and a slew of others.

Ps: My wife is the brunette to the lower left of Becker at 2:50 in this video;

Many of the greats mentioned. Kid Charlemagne probably the quintessential funk bass line. No mention of Kings though? (off Can't Buy a Thrill). great groove. Killer Elliott Randall solo (plug here: I liked that solo so much, I contacted Elliott and asked him to track a solo on my original CD)
