Favorite TV Show Soundtracks

The "Favorite Movie Soundtrack" thread made me think of all the TV shows I've watched with great music so let's hear your favorite TV show music!

Hey Arnold! 1 2
Royal Pains
Burn Notice
House
Cold Case
Cowboy Bebop 1 2
Air Gear 1 2
Speed Grapher
Tetsuwan Birdy Decode
Blue Sub No. 6

Forgot to add:
Lloyd In Space
Family Guy
Metalocalypse

A bunch of the shows are from anime series but you've gotta hand it to japanese music coordinators (or w/e they're called), composers and musicians they know how to make music work for their shows.

And yes... I'm a USA network addict lol.

Nip Tuck has some of the best music in a show. They always pick really good songs for their promos. The show is awesome and the music selection really adds to the experience.

They've used:

The Engine Room - A Perfect Lie
Kanye West - Flashing Lights
Goldfrapp - Strict Machine
Giant Drag - Wicked Game
George Michael - Jesus to a Child
Radiohead - Everything In Its Right Place
Sufjan Stevens - John Wayne Gacy Jr
The Submarines - Brighter Discontent
Elton John - Rocket Man (it was such a sad scene)

I'm really going to miss this show when they wrap it up. Apparently they just recently finished filming the final episode (landmark #100). I'm excited to see how it all ends. The writers are really good so I'm sure it'll be going out on a powerful note.

Psych also has some good music in it. There are some cool songs like Space Age Love Song that really fit the show (depending on the setting and mood).

this thread and the mention of japanese producers made me think of video game music. namco and konami have always had great music. i've got a couple konami kukeiha club and namco ridge racer cds. they're pretty good.

Do you mean original music for the show, or just what songs they use music video style?

(I hate the latter.)

Don't watch TV anymore, so I'm definitely Old School.

Sanford and Son
Barney Miller
Mayberry RFD
Streets of San Francisco
Hawaii Five-0

Jose Feliciano singing "Chico and the Man" was pretty cool in its way, too.

Another old guy pipes up...
Rockford Files
The Bob Newhart Show
Barney Miller
Peter Gunn
Northern Exposure

Northern Exposure was one of the first shows that did a good job of picking ancillary songs for within the show. They might have started the trend.

From the short lived "Hoppity Hooper" cartoon show.
How many of you remember THAT one?

I was 8 yo at the time, but the tune just mesmerized me!

both. yea, those music video style "music breaks" are just shameless plugs for the artist but if you like the music you like the music
