I voted for Sgt. Pep, simply for "A Little Help From My Friends", an amazing melodic & rhythmic bass line and possibly the greatest lyrical drum fills ever.

Then, there's the songwriting on Rubber Soul, Revolver, The White Album..... Sarge got my vote for that song, the creativity range and the versatility in music styles, etc.

But then, listen to The White Album for all the same....
They were amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I voted for the White Album.

<puts on flame-retardant suit>
But I think "Aftermath" by the Rolling Stones is better than the entire Beatles catalog combined.

When it comes to Taste in Music; it's all subjective. As a Bassist how does one ignore the brilliance of Paul McCartney's playing when comparing to any other band from the era, let alone in my humble opinion, the songs and bass lines are timeless...... Oh well, that's just my little pea brain.....

I voted Revolver. Magical Mystery Tour always seems to be their most underrated though and probably my second. I hardly see people list it as their fave, yet the number of "hits" per track is pretty amazing.

One cannot ignore such great playing and great songwriting. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against The Beatles, and their importance and talent are unquestioned. I just prefer The Rolling Stones quite a bit more.

Wow- this is like trying to decide which nut I couldn't do without. I love it all, from the "Fab Four" stuff to the psychedelic stuff

I voted for Abbey Road but it just barely beats out Sgt Pepper's. Those are the first 2 records I ever bought, played them until you could see light thru the LPs and bought them again and again.

American or British version? The A side is genius, almost as good as any Beatles album, but side 2 doesn't really hold up. An 11 minute blues jam is OK if you're not the "world's greatest rock and roll band".

I voted White album.

Right on

I'm the first to vote for Help.
My hippie brother gave me his old copy of this when I was 5(1968). I took it to kindergarten for show & tell, & still have it. Listening to it now, it seems to be a transition period for them- between total pop & serious art. I will one day break down & get a CD of it. I sometimes sing 'I need you' to my 2-yr-old & cry like a little girl. Yes I do.

White Album. I love everything on there, even Honey Pie and Revolution #9.

But this is a ridiculous thread, because, you can't just have one Beatles album. You need to listen to 'em all, at least from Revolver-Abbey Road, some of the older stuff is a bit filler-y I mean, no one really likes all of Meet The Beatles (which isn't listed, curiously)

i Voted for The white album because the voice of the man that sings Why dont we do it on the Road, I Will, Helter skelter and Blackbird is so fantastic!!!(he is a damn good bassplayer too..)

Abbey Road for me! Fully matured songwriting, playing & production by a great band and producer who knew it would be their swansong.

I voted Rubber Soul, although Rubber Soul/Revolver are my favourites. I might've voted for Help, but apart from Yesterday all the songs that weren't in the movie were terrible IMO.
