Drama is a must have just for "Tempus Fugit", the rest of the album is just gravy ! It's my fave.

Fragile, followed by CTTE and then ABWH (which is really a Yes album)

Close to the Edge is definately my favorite album. All 3 songs are amazing. The Yes Album, Fragile, and Relayer are all right up there too.

No Wal pix I'm afraid. If I remember correctly, he only used his Ric.

The last time I saw Yes will likely be the last. The show was either the last or next to last show of the tour. It was instantly obvious that Howe wanted to get the hell home! He had no desire to be playing these songs again. I was trying to figure out how to tell my g/f that we were going to have to leave. For the first 4 songs (1/2 hr + into the show), White and Squire were really battling with Howe to pull his head out of his ass. Squire was shooting vicous looks at Howe, and once I thought White was going to come out from behind his kit and fix things himself. Finally it all came together and wound up being a decent show. That was a little over two years ago.

I agree wholeheartedly, but in the opposite order!

Hoping to dust a few Yes tunes off for my new band. "It's all good!"

Wow, I'm sorry to hear about the bad show, but I certainly wouldn't let it sour it for you from here on out.

I haven't missed a Yes show since my first one in 1977 (including ABWH, etc.), and I must say that this past tour with Wakeman back is the absolute best show that I've seen them put on out of about 17 times that I've seen them. If you get a chance to see them with Wakeman in the band, I'd recommend not missing it.

And at that show in 1977, I'll never forget when Squire came out with the tripleneck Wal when they played Awaken (are you sure he didn't play it at the show you saw?). I played guitar back then and didn't even pick up a bass til three years later, but I thought that Wal was so cool.

Edit: I wanted to add that the '77 show was for "Going For The One", where they were more likely to play "Awaken". They started playing in the round in '78 when "Tormato" came out, a very highly underated album IMO.

"OK", I'll play...
Definitely Fragile followed ever so closely by CTTE. Third would be The Yes Album.

Fragile was my first Yes record..."Roundabout", "Long Distance Runaround", "The Fish" blew me away. Didn't quite know what to make of this stuff, just knew I liked it.

Couple years back, I bought(finally) Yes' debut album. I really like that one, too! Kinda cool seeing where they were prior to The Yes Album.

I learned to play while listening to Yes and Rush.

I would sit in my room all night playing through my stereo (which had a cool input where I could plug in and play along) with the headphones on.

I spent most of my time playing along to:

Fragile

and

Yesshows

I had to vote for "Going For The One" simply because of the last song "Awaken".. IMO THE best pogressive rock song ever recorded.

I know the Yes album, Fragile and Close To The Edge are must haves, but I want to throw in another vote for Drama. It sometimes seems that difficult times in band histories produce really interesting albums. Trevor Horn did an amazing Jon Anderson impression on that album. Anybody see them on that tour? It must have been so strange seeing a Buggle singing all the old Yes tunes.

Thumbs up Easy...

Followed by "Fragile". IMO it didn't get better than that.

A truly tough question...do you all realize the entire body of work of this band in all it's incarnations over the past 3 decades or longer?????
It boggles the mind that they are still touring as we speak. Well, Tempus Fugit, doesnt it?
I've seen them only twice...once when Wakeman rejoined on the 'Going for the One' Tour, and once last fall. They sounded great both times (although a bit down tempo this time 'round). Jon Anderson truly amazes with his youthful pipes....how does he do it?

O.K., guess I have to choose... "Relayer". "To be Over" is one of my fave songs of all time...the slide break and solo are what I'm about in a lifetime of musical expression. I've always had a bit of a jazzy side to my nature, and this album probably goes closer to that edge than any of their work. It didnt hurt to have Pat Moraz in the band either. Definitely on par with Wakeman, although I like Rick alot too. Shook his hand last October...huge, it was (the hand, and the man!). I saw Pat and Bill Bruford together back in '84..when Bill was big into his Simmons drums...what a killer duo they were.
