Hi guys,
Here's one of our tracks we recorded a while ago. Was done in a few hours via multitrack in a studio, but obviously a tad rushed. Still sounds pretty good though. I'm a complete amateur at mixing, but I've been trying and trying and reading and trying the last few weeks. Here's what I've came up with so far for our cover of Of Wolf and Man: http://www.4shared.com/audio/4UrIr_IV/Wolf23.htmll
Already had the girlfriend and bandmates listen. What do you guys think? Anything jump out instantly as wrong?
Thanks!

And yeah, it just "happened" to be a bit faster (how we played it on the day)
I think it sounds better in some ways and worse in some ways... :P
And I've been thinking it doesn't sound as heavy! I've tried to EQ the guitars to make them a little more heavy, but one of the problems with us as a band are we aren't nearly as heavy as 'tallica. Both our guitarists either use Marshall combos or metal zone pedals. I wish both of them would get Mesa Dual Recs with 4x12s, but unless I hand them to them, I think they'll complain about the cost of them... :P
We also did Ride the Lightning on the day too, and I think our recording on that was a bit more heavy, so hopefully I can get that up on here soon too...
Thanks!

Listen to the S & M recording to hear what I mean. Haven't heard it live since he's been replaced, so maybe they scrapped the backups.

Nether of our guitarists are insanely strong on backups and we were running out of time, so we decided it would be easiest to just have the singer worry about the singing and them two worry about the guitars.
Back when they covered Creeping Death (before I joined), they had the whole band do takes of "DIE, DIE, DIE, DIE!" though xD
And wish I had Newstead's voice!
Cheers again for the feedback.

Other than that, great job! |

And thanks again for the feedback. I've uploaded a newer version too. I noticed the guitar volume is really screwey in Wolf22, so they're a lot beefier in Wolf23. Bass is down a tad, but I'll have to give it a good listen on my mp3 player to see if it needs to come back up a bit (the speakers I use to mix on aren't great...).
Cheers!
