A few new ones on my "Space"

Shameless plug??
Naw, not really. Just a few tracks I put up on my "MySpace" from a jam session at a bar here in the Detroit area (Memphis Smoke) from December.
Here:
http://www.myspace.com/mikefredericks

Bass was my now sold Lakland 55-94 (with Basslines J & MM p/ups) into a Demeter VTBP 201 (old 1 1/2 space model) then into the board. FYI, cab was a LDS UL212, but sound on recording is Lakland/Demeter. Just a board recording.

I got the call for the "house band" two nights before the hit. Got together the night before for an hour or so to talk about tunes (like 30) and run over a few. The next night we played.
A lot of the night was like this:
"Hey, you know Blah Blah Blah?? No??....It's like this <tells me a change or two> Watch me on the bridge......Cool?!?!? <I nod>.....1-2-3-4" Boom, we played the tune. It was a freakin' blast. I do a lot of sub gigs like this, so I'm not too far out of my element.
So, yeah, it's a little rough here and there. Some notes I wish I could take back. But I like raw recordings like this.

There are a couple of videos on there as well, so rip me up about them as well!! (the bottom video is just some pointless wailing away, kinda funny actually )

Lemme have it!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW, I noticed that the player on MySpace has been acting a bit weird lately. If it jumps ahead, just grab the little slider thingy and drag it back to the beginning of the tune.

There's more music in the nuance than the notes.

Another tune added!

I just added another tune to my "MySpace". I do a small solo near the end.
It's called "725" from a session I did a while back. It's an inst. rock tune. Just got the remix of it yesterday.

Bass/rig:
F Bass BNF5
Groove Tubes "Ditto Box" tube DI

That's some sweet and really intimate bass work. Really reminds me of Bob James music- nice stuff

Cool. I listened to Got to Getcha. I don't see the other ones you mentioned in the blog. Like to hear 725. Tasty as always.

I do like gigs like that but my ears still need lots 'o work. Although I did sub in for the bassist on the Justin Timberlake HBO gig last night on TV.

Hey, I was just playing along because it was on. Pretty easy gig it would seem except for some of the shots/stops.
