Bass is my '78 Yamaha BB800. Amp is '76 SVT and cab is '78 810 miced with an Audix D4 & then blended about 70/30 (mic/direct).

The more and more I get on TB, I realize how many people like Yamaha's and how good they sound. One of the best basses I ever played on was a Yamaha

Yeah, it's awesome. I recently bought an '86 MIJ Fender P and I like the Yamaha more. It definitely has the P thump but also has an attack that the Fender can't match.
