First Rehearal with new band. Input please.

I had a first rehearsal with a new band last week. Certainly a step up for me in terms of the caliber of players and the challenge of the repertoire we'll be working with. We jammed on a bunch of tunes to get a feel for what might be possible. i need to do a bit more listening and lifting of the original cuts to pick up some tastier lines.

I'd appreciate any comments from the TB community. These are first takes from the jam to give us something to remember what we did. So there are some rough spots (like me stomping all over the form on the guitar solo in Cold Duck Time), miscues, pushes instead of on the beat and so on but let me know what you think.

Easy Love: Little bit of push and pull on the tempo.

Thanks for taking the time to listen.

Cheers

I thought it sounded totally cool. Liked the second one the best. Great grooves. I kind of imagined that John Mayer guy (not sure if thats the right spelling) singing on the second tune.

Thanks for taking the time to listen. Backing John Mayer would be cool. Pino's got big shoes though.

Cheers

Really good playing but the form on Cold Duck Time was off. You sort of stayed on the root until the changes. Unless y'all wanted it that way.

Thanks for listening Funkfather. Yep, I totally stomped on that. But overall I'm excited by the possibilities of playing with this group of guys.

Well, that "Easy Love" sounds awfully like "People Get Ready", but then that's not a bad template to follow...
