Hey guys, my band The Venus Illuminato just finished our second album - a 4 song EP. Anyhow, would love to hear your feedback on the two tracks that were reviewed.

Thanks,

Downloaded the EP from Digmusic, tracks 3&4 are the best, slings and arrows being my favorite. Wasn't crazy about Sea of Cortez, just never really felt the groove on it, but the rest was awesome, you guys should draw some interest with this one.

Thanks for your input and honesty. Glad you dig some of the tracks.

We toured from LA to Austin TX...made some stops in Las Cruces, NM (played a radio show there) and stopped in El Paso, TX (great audience reception there), then continued on to Austin to play a couple shows at SXSW...so much fun. It was great to get out of Los Angeles and finally play for some people who appreciate bands. LA is tough cause there's alot of excellent bands so people get kinda spoiled. I wanna get back on the road so badly.

Just listened to "Civil War Ballad." Wow!!! When it first started I thought it was reminicent of John Mellencamps "Lonesome Jubilee" album (one of my all tiime fav's) but it quickly turned into your bands own thing. Excellant song, great playing and the tones from all are really good.

I am going to listen to more later tonight, I promise. But it's a nice day, I don't get outside enough due to working nights (got today off) so I'm going to head back out.

Great music!!

Of the two songs that I heard I definitely liked Civil War Ballad better. For me is was very reminiscent of some Jeff Buckley. Nice Job!

Very cool! I love listening to bands that mix interesting genres. For example a couple of my favorite bands are Gogol Bordello and Diablo Swing Orchestra. Civil War Ballad kinda sounds like Gogol Bordello gone dark (its a good thing lol)

Cool.

Wish you guys were in LA...we have a show at Silverlake Lounge on Wednesday.

Yeah, we mix it up quite a bit. We're a five piece band - singer, guitar, bass, violin and drums but in the recent months, we've added a percussionist and a tamborine player (she's really good) and sexy too. The addition of the two has really filled out the sound of our songs...awesome rhythms. Our live shows are getting alot more interesing and full sounding...theres a lot going on...which is cool.

You can hear older tracks here: http://www.myspace.com/venusilluminato and you can see that what we're doing now, is quite different. We still play these older tunes but they way rocked up now...in a good way.

Thanks to who've listened.
