Hiya,
we have been fiddling around with our pro tools machine in our home studio for way too long. Using it as a place for generating ideas. Now we've finally got our selves around to record a whole song
give it a listen and tell me what you think - it's my first song as a bass player and audio techichian (however that's spelled) to be put on the wide internet.
constructive feedback appriciated http://www.myspace.com/hosdk |

1) good first song
2) lower the singers volume, it overpowers too much IMO |

Bass tone seems "muffled". Maybe more mids. Seems to be too much sonic space between the bass and the guitar. I'd shorten the bass intro by half, same with guitar intro.
Alternative intro: reverse the bass intro with the guitar starting.
Vocals seem to need some work. Especially the "harmonies".
The arrangement seems a bit disjointed. Possibly chart it and balance it out a bit.
Lead guitar solo seems to change volume during solos.

If you cut the lows, they will be out of the sonic space of the bass and drums. After that, I suggest you work on the panning to get the stereo space figured out. At this point I think the song will sound a lot more professional and even if you aren't using the best gear, less rough. Levels are set last. |

I think as someone put it-"extrodinarlily ruff" , is a little extreme....
I would say the levels are just kinda "off".
Did the singer do the mixing? |

it has not yet been through a maximizer - so it's a bit lower than the other one
