First track on the album is up there now. We describe ourselves as epic, Celtic Metal, (as a description, not a genre ) Its probably one of my more simple basslines on the album, but I felt with so much going on elsewhere, throwing in things for the sake of showing off my, "skillz" would detract from the song rather than add to it.

Feedback on both the song and production are welcome! Of course, bass-centred feedback is very welcome.

I dig it! I'm not much for operatic sort of vocals, but yours don't bug me like a lot of them do. Good work and great production.

Thanks for the reply Zachoff. We've never had our vocals described as operatic before. Thats interesting. Can I ask what you mean by operatic?

Ha, yeah... I meant just not not growly or cookie monstered. Clean vocals w/ actual singing is what I mean by "operatic"

Celtic metal -- I like.

I wouldn't call the vocals operatic at all, but they do have that majestic 80's arena rock tenor thing going on. And honestly, the vocals are the weak part for me. Sorry. They're competent, but don't really touch me. Of course, that's subjective and intangible. I also think the melody is a bit stagnant and needed the vocals to really sell it. No real hook. It seemed like it went to the 5th a little too often. Just keeping it real here.

Other than that, the playing is real good. Good time feel. Guitar bass and drums cook. Nice arrangement and tonal atmosphere. Good recording, though I wouldn't have minded the bass being a bit more up front.

I hope it doesn't sound too critical -- I'm wearing my A&R hat now. If I were LOOKING for things to criticize, those would be the ones that are most legit. Otherwise, nice job and best of luck.

Plagent, that doesn't sound too critical at all. I put it up for critique, not a back-patting session. All feedback is appreciated. It helps for writing for the next album!
