Flatwound songs

Hello,

I just got myself some flatwounds, and I was wondering which interesting basslines out there were recorded using this kind of strings. I think Sting uses them a lot, right? Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

A lot of the early Who stuff was played with flats. Everyone knows about the My Generation solo.

Check out 'Glow Girl'. And look on Youtube for the live version of 'My Generation' and 'So Sad About Us' at the Marquee, Entwistle's P bass sounds immense.

To extend this... Steve Harris used Rotosound SH77's. His signature strings.

Another thing though... Different manufacturers make flats with different sounds. Some may sound dull and boomy, while other will sound bright and crisp. And then there are some in between. I use Rotosound RS77's which are bright and crisp.

Sting is supposed to be known for using flats? Interesting. Most of the songs by the Police definitely sound like rounds to me.
