Give It Away, 3:30 or so into the track, I think he slid up 1 fret too far. Am I the only one who hears this?

He may played it correctly on another cut, but they chose this one because of the groove, even if there is a little mistake.
It reminds me this quote from Victor: "you should never lose the groove in order to find a note"

I wasn't bashing either, just surprised, and making sure I'm not just hearing things...

I'm sure i've herd a live version of Weather Reports Black Market, and Joe Zawinul hits a bad note on his solo, and he works that note in2 the solo, and it kinda sounds right, lol. |

I'm sure that happens to everyone, even Flea.

Analyze the chord that is correct and the one that you think is incorrect.
Could it have been an Upper Neighbor, Passing Tone, an Added note chord, an altered chord?
Just a thought.

Of course, Flea's probably made plenty of mistakes in the studio, but they usually just throw away those takes. In this case, Rick Rubin probably just said "ah, keep it". And "Give It Away" was recorded before the advent of Pro Tools software, which makes it very simple to fix little mistakes like that.
