Fleas's tone on "Freaky Styley"

Sign in to disble this ad
I don't mean to sound like a bass noob, but I've honestly found the tone I WANT to sound like. It's most prominent on "The Brothers Cup" and "If You Want Me To Stay" on the RHCP album Freaky Styley. Does anyone know what equipment he was using at the time (1985 i believe). It sounds like a Jazz but I'm not sure.

Thanks!

There are a couple other threads about fleas gear on here. I could be wrong but I think he was playing Stingrays through Ampegs during that time period. But that having been said you're probably not going to get Fleas tone without being flea. He definitely plays hard whether slapping or playing with his fingers though.
