I just got it today. It's great! If you want to get into the Mars Volta, though, I suggest you get Amptecture first. I love Juan's growl and chop, although Omar does write the bass lines. Do you love it? I though it would take time to get used to, but man it's amazing.

It's taken me a long time to get used to Volta.

But yeah, it's insanely good stuff.

I remember when FTM came out. I saw them later that summer. They were awesome.

It's still their best record, IMO.

If you want to get into Volta, Deloused is their most digestible album. I just saw them live for the second time on this tour. If you get a chance to see them this tour DO it. They're playing amazing. The Florida show I saw was better than the New York show in January.

IMO Deloused>All others

I didn't really like Amputechture at all for some reason. FTM, is pretty good, and I liked the newest, Bedlam, but Deloused is still my favorite.

Deloused is their least favorite too. I only say that because it's digestible. I love the music on Frances. The thing that I do disagree with is the woosh and whah's all over the place. Save that for live. don't give me 7 minutes of it on a recording. That's a few more real songs. If you ask me it's self indulgent. Live it's an experience. On a recording it's an excuse for not having a lot of material to work with....

The devil's advocate would and could argue that the way they connect the songs is incredible and the 4 minute woosh is crucial to that. It makes an incredible live effect too.

I agree w/ De-Loused being their most digestible. I guess that makes it my favorite. I wasn't as crazy about Amputechture...I wanted to be...just didn't pull it all together for me. Frances has some amazing tracks, but then it almost gets silly how noisy everything gets towards the middle/end of the album...like, who can make sense of that?

Saw them live at Arragon Ballroom in Chicago 1.5 years ago (touring for Amputechture) and wasn't overly impressed. Maybe the sound was just crappy towards the back, but everything was super muddy and fuzzy. Plus, they only played one song off De-Loused. They had GREAT energy though, so maybe I just couldn't hear that could because of the venue. And the singer has a cool white microphone. So...style points, I guess...

Flea is on De-Loused I'm pretty damn sure.

I really don't like FTM not sure why I just flat out don't like it. But I love all the other albums except I don't have Tremulant and need to go get it...Think its about time to hit up amazon.

As far as I'm concerned De-Loused>Bedlam>Amputechture>FTM

FTM is bad by TMV standards and okay overall. Too me there is too much of 'nothing' on it.

Deloused>Frances>the others.

The growling monster of a tone on L´via L´viaquez, finally got me looking for a Precision right away!

I haven´t found it yet...(the P)
