I saw this band later in the year at E.M. Loews in Worcester, MA right after they got back from a lengthy European tour. I didn't really have much interest in going, but a musician friend of mine told me that he'd pay for my ticket if I didn't absolutely love it. I think I ended up paying for his ticket.

Fun fact, we got to that show early and they had the doors open. You entered the theater on the bottom, right by the edge of the stage. Frank was sitting on a stool at the edge of the stage and greeted us individually on our way in. He also asked for requests, and while not promising any of them he did tell us that if his band knew the songs, he'd try to fit them in the set.

That being said, I think my favorite touring band of Zappa's was the 1974 line up, followed closely by the 1988 band, which I saw 5 times. 3 nights in a row at one point.

'73-'74 was just phenomenal. For whatever reason I missed the '88 tour - so I have only that '84 memory.

He has a few problems with the life of a musician, especially a bass player. Kind of a strange thing since he is so good at it, a real love / hate relationship.
Recently he got up and played at a Zappa Plays Zappa show, he played King Kong, I think.
