Hey all,
I've been reading talkbass for awhile now, but I've just started posting. I play bass and sing in Dogs of Winter. We're a stoner rock band from Brooklyn, and we released our album as a free download this past May.
You can download the whole thing here: dogsofwinter.com
or do the low-quality stream over at myspace.
Let me know what you think! I've been enjoying talkbass members' projects all morning, so I wanted to give a little back.
Ryan
Dogs of Winter
ps - my rig for this one is a Fender P-bass (50th anniversary ed.)> Sansamp BDDI > Rat 2 > Mesa 400+ > Ampeg 4x10. Pretty basic compared to some of the chains I see on here. |

| Really enjoying the songs so far.
Seems to be a recent hot bed of bands coming out of Brooklyn. I guess the NY scene for new music is long gone? |

I'm not sure I understand your comment, though. Do you mean "NY scene for new music is long gone?" = Manhattan?
There's a big creative boom in Brooklyn now as opposed to, say, the Bowery or lower-east side just because if you're an artist or musician you probably can't afford to live in Manhattan anymore. |

We tracked an acoustic version of our song, Beneath the Fold, now available as another free download at Lapdance Academy. It's worth checking out the video (made from public-domain stock footage) that my guitarist slaved over, too.
Sadly, there's no bass on this (gasp!) I played guitar on it. But if you liked the record, I thought you might dig this, too.
