I don't know if any TBers are familliar with British indie music but it has finally been announced that the band Freebass are releasing an album.
This band is a 'supergroup' made up of Peter Hook of New Order, Andy Rourke of the Smiths and Mani of Primal Scream, all playing bass. There are guest singers instead of a permanent singer.

Hooky is a pretentious twat though I enjoy both New Order and Joy Division. I love Andy Rourke's playing, at least in the Smiths' days.... not sure what he's done since. I can't imagine this will be very good though.

+1

I doubt this album will amount to anything listenable. Long gone are the glory days of "This Charming Man", which is brilliant.

Try and imagine the concept of three bassists in one band for FIVE minutes. Instead of Hooky bashing (you guys really know how to annoy me)!

there's a demo of a Freebass track here-

um, dunno. doesn't sound that promising. Hooky's playing his same old licks.
they need a songwriter.

I've heard it and I think it sounds pretty good myself...
