Howdy.
Long time listener, first time caller.
After listening to it for 100 years I finally sat down yesterday and spent twenty minutes to learn Sir Duke.
What fun to play. I was bobbing my head like a teenager again.
What songs immediately come to mind that are as much fun to play as Sir Duke?
Here are some of mine:
Jackson 5: ABC-123
James Brown: Funky President
Jamiroquai: Whatever It Is, I Just Can't Stop (can get repetitive though...)
Which of your favorite tunes are as much fun to play as Sir Duke?
Need some ideas. Thanks. |

Odd that my current fav song to play is also a Stevie song - "I wish" - - what fun that is! |

Stevie Wonder - Do I Do, with a fun bassline and unison line.
Then learn Donnie Hathaway - This Christmas
Good stuff! |

Good stuff! | There was just the whole transcription to that in BP this month. I am about halfway through. It kicks major butt.

Go for it... it's not as hard as you think.
And that F - G# - C in the chorus just makes me smile every time it comes around. So counterintuitive, but sounds so good. |

Here's another...
Brother's Johnson: Stomp!
Keep 'em coming. I think I need to join a project where I can get my 70's funk/disco on. |

Shining Star is a good time, September is fun to mess around with, but "I Wish" and "Do I Do" are a REALLY good time. Nate Watts wrote the most fun bass lines. Listen to "Funkin For Jamaica" sometime too. |

"Just A Touch Of Love" by Slave
"Square Biz" by Teena Marie
"In The Stone" by Earth, Wind & Fire
"Space Cowboy" by Jamiroquai
"Master Blaster" and "As If You Read My Mind" by Stevie

"Don't wan't you no more"/"Not my Cross to bear" from The Allman Brothers Band's first album. While Not my cross to bear is basic blues, Don't want you no more is a tour de force of southern blues rock. |

Other fun songs to play;
Chameleon - Paul Jackson (Headhunters)
Green Earrings & FM - Chuck Rainey (Steely Dan)
Sinister Minister - Victor Wooton (Bela Fleck and the Flecktones)
Makin' Flippy Floppy & Swamp - Tina Weymouth (The Talking Heads)
Cisco Kid & Low Rider - B.B. Dickerson (War)
Cissy Strut - George Porter Jr. (The Meters)
Thorazine Shuffle - Allen Woody (Govt Mule)
