Hi all, new here! So far the sites very overwhelming! I'm a guitarist, and I listen to a lot of 80s thrash metal and stuff of the like. Megadeth, Anthrax, Pantera, Iron Maiden...Anyway, Ive dabbled with the bass here and there over the past few years and I've loved every chance I got to play one. I like listening to Steve Harris, Dave Ellefson, all that jazz, but when I think bass I don't think something following those types of guitar.
I dont know much about other styles of music, but I love the lines I've heard in things like Ghetto Live(?), and Louis Johnson stuff. Again, I havent heard much, but I love those funky powerful basslines. I was wondering if anyone here had any idea on where to start me out. I was looking for maybe a small list of some bands like that, so I could check them out and really get to broaden my horizons into that genre and learn. Everytime I hear things like that it brings a smile to my face, and I'd love to be able to do it. If this has been posted before, sorry, I'll look around. Thanks in advance all. |
