I hope you like it. I just turned 16, and i've only played fretless for alittle over a year, so i'm not the best in the world... just made a video for fun! Too bad the video turned out so dark... if anyone know of a way to repair it, let me know!
Details of my gear, and other stuff, is in the details section on the youtube page.
Tell me what you think!

my girlfriend had one comment though, she didn't like the drum loop...that high-pitched klanging sound wasn't great...
and one more thing...you look a lot older than 16 |

You're heading in the right direction but concentrate more on groove and timing and not so much trying to get everything in your repetoire in the span of a few minutes. I know, it's just a vid for fun! Definitely not bad for only a year of playing! I like that groove you were playing! Better copywrite that right now! I may steal it! |

I chose the clacky drum pattern so that i could hear it, the more natural sounding patterns just dissapeared in my bass.
Thanks! |

I look younger than i do on the video, though.
Yes, groove and timing is what i'm working on at the moment. I've played fretted bass, guitar, and keyboard for several years, but it wasn't before i picked up fretless that i started focusing on "keeping the groove".
I'm gonna make a better video as soon as i get the chance (these days i'm not "into" it, if you understand), and post it on this forum if you want!
Thanks!

Darkness an' all covers a multitude of sins and the special effects peeps at Hollywood usually opt for the best special effects scenes in twilight lighting conditions, especially when the budget is low
I personally think that A) You can play the bass well,but..
B) You are kidding about your age.
I did suggest earlier that your sound/technique had a kind of familiarity about it,i.e. heard it all before but I think you have something there, albeit a master of disguise fretless who's who? |

As far as the video quality, I don't know there's much you can do. You can reshoot the thing, deamplify your bass and run the sound through a monitor -- in essence, bass-sync or overdub. Nice playing.

Hallais Erlend!
Great playing. But I got a bit unsettled by some of it. There were some overplaying that just didn't serve any purpose whatsoever, and got more irritating than "cool". That said, there were lots of minor details that made me notice that the guy who is playing (you, obviously) knows his thing. And of course it's a jam and I'm sure that playing like that is great fun - I can't say, because I haven't experienced it. |
