I just purchased a Mac book and I'm new to garage band and Mac's. I was wondering what is the easiest and/or best way to record my self playing along to Itunes tracks using garage band?

open up itunes and garageband, drag the mp3 of the song (you might need to convert the song to mp3 in itunes if its not already) to the garageband window. It should copy over. Then just make sure you place the file at the beginning, and there you go. Create another track for your playing. Just hit record and play along.

Do you already have a USB interface or are you plugging your instrument in the 1/8 jack?

I don't have a USB interface yet, so i would be going into the 1/8 mic input.
