Gary Willis chord sequence - fretless solo

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi People

Just tried this Gary Willis sequence I love from his tune 'Speak' - it a very Bill Evans-ish set of changes:

Bm7 Gbm7 - C#m7 G9 - D9 Gb7 - Abm7 Abm7 - Bb7 Fm7 - Cm7 Am7 - F#dim C#m7 - Dm7 Dm7

I've always come back to this over the last few years but I stuck the chords into Band In A Box today for some practice - just wanted to share my progress:

Let me know your thoughts

Cheers

Mike

The changes are somewhat indistinct - though it seems like you're getting more comfortable with them near the end.

Thanks guys - Chris, I agree man but this sequence of chords has so many options in terms of how you approach them I went back at it this morning and there's so many ideas I barely got started on the vid - anyway thanks for your honesty.

Plenty of work to go!

Cheers

The background music was too low in the mix.
