That song has actually been a small project for me in the past week. I opened it on Power Tab/Guitar Pro, whatever, slowed it down, and am learning every little note/style that is played. I'm doing really good, not too far away from the original tempo.

It took me so freaking long to learn that bassline. I still can't always hit every solo break correctly, but I just keep practicing. It's really, really hard to get the feel of the song right . . .

In the beginning when the guitar and bass are in unison, my fingers get a little tripped up and jumbled sometimes. When the guitar part and bass part become seperate, that parts a little easier.

What type of bass Geddy is using for the song?
OMG I wish I can get that tone out of my P bass.

It's a Wal... about as far from a P in tone IMO. Try LOTS of mids and LOTS of compression.

I love every aspect of that song except the keys. Geddy should've stuck to bass for this one.

Of all the YYZ versions I´ve heard, this one with the Wal sound has always been my favourite. The sound is soooo articulated and defined that I love it.

I just got my 4 disc collection "Replay x 3" and been watching it a lot.

Here is a poll that rates this as the greatest bass performances: http://www.digitaldreamdoor.com/page..._bassperf.html

they also rate a whole bunch of stuff like Guitarists, bassists, etc.. kinda cool.
