Hi all -- my band Year of the Rat has just completed our debut record, "The Code". It's available on CDBaby for digital download and is also up our Myspace and Facebook sites for free listening.
I would like to officially release it to my Talkbass brothers and sisters and would welcome any comments you might have about it!

A little info about the album, from our CDBaby page:
The debut release from Victoria, B.C.'s Year of the Rat, The Code is an intense 6-song EP that features some of the quartet's finest songwriting.
Each song crafts a unique and engaging storyline, drawing listeners with its hooks and progressions into tales laced with intrigue, betrayal, treachery and themes of good and evil in modern times. These aren't your typical songs about "The Girl That Got Away;" instead, the listener will be treated to songs about inner-city redemption ("Chicago Thanksgiving"), moral quandary ("Doctor, Please"), religious charlatanism ("Prey for Deliverance") and good-old-fashioned campfire ghost stories ("Ghost Fight").
The Code is the ultimate marriage of overdriven guitars with melody-driven vocals and modern synth-rock. Year of the Rat strives with every song to challenge listeners while simultaneously reminding them of what they love about Rock and Roll. if you're a fan of bands such as Muse, Metric, She Wants Revenge, Silversun Pickups or Mute Math, you're sure to find a track to fall in love with on The Code.
Cheers!
