Singles? Why not get albums?

That said, everything they did with Peter Gabriel and the first couple with Phil Collins, that's all you need.

Right on, I gotta think about this, I'll get back to you in a sec, I'm gonna scan my MP3s, see what I think is a good intro.

One For The Vine

Should be enough to get you into them. They aren't my favorite prog band, I dig 'em, but not top of the list.

You'll like 'em for sure from the listed bands, but they're no King Crimson.

If you can, check out "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway"

It was the album that made me realize I liked Genesis.

I'd rather buy "Duke" and "Abacab" than "From Genesis To Revelation". They maybe more pop but there's plenty of great songs on both.

I'd start with Genesis - Live (the one from 1972).

They really are an "album band," I should have said that earlier, I just picked out some of the tracks that got me hooked on my three favorite Genesis albums.

Definitely "Squonk" off of the Trick of a Tail Album.

Easy bass line, killer tune.

In the progressive era they were an "album band", but in their later pop years they were an amazingly effective "singles band". Very few can pull both off in the course of a career.

One of my fav all time albums but not really the best starting point to my mind, takes a bit of getting used to and more of an ending point. The LAMB is absolutely great but not really too much like any other Genesis album, kinda their peak for me. If you do go with Live, listen only at night with good headphones.
