Hey, my band has 2 recently recorded songs.
Any input/criticism would be greatly, greatly, apprectiated. www.scarecrowband.tk under the audio section.
The songs I'm referring to are Special Ned, and The Curse of Stench Cove. Although anything is appreciated.

I'm not a huge fan of vocals tho so feel free to ignore that statement. The music itself is quite fine, and I like that the basswork is articulate and out front. Without the vocals, it's a bit like Tortoise. In a good way.
Curse of the Stench Cove is laughably silly. The growly scary vocals are a riot! If that's what the band is going for, you've hit the nail on the head. Again, the music itself is good and solid, lots of fun riffs. Has a kind of glamrock appeal. |

We're not much of the vocals our vocalist is giving us, so we are disposing of ihm, for someone to "sing" more or less
and Curse of Stench Cove was written by our guitarist as "the cheesist song he could write" hahaha, but lots of people who have seen us live like it
Thanks very much for the comments |

You and the rest of the band have a great sound, very together. Being the Tortoise/Mogwai/Godspeed You Black Emperor!/Dirty Three fan that I am, I say ditch the vocals altogether and just stick with instrumentals.
But that's not exactly my decision to make, heh.
Rock on! |

Good work. |

I'm just turned 40 and went to see bands back in the day that didn't rock this hard.
Post note: listened to some more of your songs and I would seek a vocalist...or two LOL...I used to hang out in Coquitlam (fawking hills made my legs tired).

Either way, good playing. I really like the instrumentation on Special Ned. Nice Dingwall, too.

| | | | That's alright. Vocals suck ass. Production sucks. Turn up the bass, I can barely hear it. Part of it really resembles something I've heard before, maybe Ride the Lightning. The distorted parts aren't nearly as good as the clean parts. The bass is good but doesn't fit that well; trying to show off too much and not letting the song flow.[special ned]
Listen to Opeth much? |

The recording quality is pretty good and the instrumentation is awesoe. Very good job. |

Also, our vocalist was booted prior to me posting this thread :P
Out guitarist, who can sing Rush & Zeppelin is taking over lead vocals | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
