Not my cup o'tea, but a landmark anyway. AFD was released 07/21/87

Where were you when this album came out?

I think I was about to go overseas for the first time (though only to France!) where I celebrated my ninth birthday.

Not a fan, but I have to admit that I've had to cover a G N' R song in my very first band. They worked it in the set by playing "Patience", which is a song without bass, so I couldn't really argue about it. Then we played the GNR version of "Knocking on Heaven's Door" and they countered my objection by arguing that it was a Bob Dylan song.

Next thing I know, I'm playing "I used to love her but I had to kill her".

Bastards.

My second year of college...you young whippersnappers.

The album was a landmark for hard rock in the late eighties.

I was in a cornfield working my summer job. Didn't hear the album until I returned to High School as a senior in the fall and HATED it the first time I heard it.

At the behest of a classmate, I continued to listen to it until about the 5th time when I finally got it. It stayed in my heavy rotation list until I heard Soundgarden's 'Louder Than Love' for the first time, then quickly faded from my memory.

At a pool hall we frequented in college, most of the tracks from 'Appetite' were mixed in with pop from the time on the jukebox for some reason. We used to pick as many of the tunes as we could afford whilst drinking cheap beer and ruining cheap felt.

I wasn't born at the time, but unfortunatley I've still had to suffer that album!
