Going into the studio with CP and doing 7-8 songs, all "live".

Drums, bass and acoustic guitar will all be tracked to tape (no time for screw ups) and scratch vox on top, with those re-recorded and added later.

Thinking of:

1. DI from bass to amp, miking 118 Gordo
2. DI from bass to amp, miking Tri112
3. DI from Mesa amp, miking 118 Gordo
4. DI from Mesa amp, miking Tri112

Thoughts??

I'm thinking Option 3, and setting the Mesa to almost "flat", and getting as much of the "oomph" of the 18 on tape as I can, while evening out the top end with the Mesa. The guy is a pro (teaches sound engineering at ACC, I believe) and has been doing this for 25+ years, and he said I could hook up whatever I wanted.

This will be mixed down and mastered, so it should be very good sound quality and will bring out lots of nuances.
