hey guys,
my main goal is to be a session player... and i got a call today to do my first actual real session.

anyway, its for a hip hop/ neo soul record.

what do yall recommend me to bring, and how should i come prepared for the situation..?? i want them to call me back obviously so what do i need to do??

im more than likely gonna bring my 64 p with flats and my lakland usa dj....but should i bring my demeter hbp1?? or my upright??

im really excited and would appreciate any feedback yall can give..

thanks,
evan

A Fender. Whatever else you want that you feel you at the top of your game with, but always, ALWAYS, bring a Fender (or put a Fender logo on your favorite bass).

I'd bring the two electric basses and, if you feel that 'your' sound is helped by the demeter, bring that as well. Don't worry about the upright unless that was the reason that the client called you.

THE FLATWOUNDS WILL BE GREAT. ALSO, BE PREPARED TO PLAY WITH THUMB. HIP-HOP/NEO SOUL LIKE THE SUB BASS YOU GET WITH THUMB. GOOD LUCK AND REMEMBER TO PLAY WHAT'S NEEDED.
