Post Gov't Mule at Rockpalast 2005 - Full Version of Mule

If you're a Gov't Mule or Andy Hess fan, you've probably already seen part of this video. Andy's solo is what a P bass with flats through an SVT is all about. So much groove.

I came across the whole performance on YouTube and thought that you all would like to see it as well. If you want a clinic on walking bass, this song is it.

George Porter knocks Mule out of the park on 'The Deepest End' DVD as well. Pick it up if you can.

Mule

Mule has a history of strong "Stylist" bass players starting with the immortal Allan Woody up to todays Jorgen Carlsson.
I've enjoyed them all. There are people out therewho compare Jorgen to Woody. To me he sounds more like Tom Petersson.

I'm probably going to spark a storm here by asking this, but I just realized that there is a huge gap in my music collection. I need to add some Gov't Mule to it. Which album should I start with?

I would go ahead and start with the new one. I've been a fan for a long time, first show was in 1998 and they have changed a lot over the years, all good years IMHO. At least if you start with the new one, you'll be ready when they hit your town.

If you're into live music, you should go and download one of their shows off Mule Tracks http://www.muletracks.com/ I would recommend the Taos, NM show be then I was there so I'm biased.

They sound great and they always play tunes that span their entire career.

That's pretty much the way I look at it, I've dug what they all brought to the gig.
