Great Claypool video

Sign in to disble this ad
check out the Les Claypool video here:

(Click on "one better")

Sure, it goes way past the 12 minute prog-mark, but his tone and playing are in fine form.

Ignore the sitar player, but that sax solo sounds so much like a distorted guitar it's uncanny.

happy grooves,
reens

Outstanding! Thanks. Quite the Ampeg rig he's got. I knew he switched but hadn't seen it yet.
Would you call that Funk or Jazz. It ain't Primus.

Umm, is Gabby Lala playing a Sitar Synth (Synthtar?)???

Love the "Cygnus X-1" monologue at the beginning...

indeed, he's pretty handy with the sampler. I'll go you one better, check out Jamie Lidell's vocal work with a sampler/beat.

his Stax-take Multiply is a great little number too.

Thumbs down

wow.. ok... so a colonel claypool vid is not for Bassists but for Recordings... I'd like to see what logic informs that taxonomy...

Maybe it's long time a Videos subsection was created. Prevent this ambiguity in future. Everyone in the clear. Happy days all round.

Hmmm.... stickied on top of "Bassists" since April 2006 I find this thread. Not that I need to justify my actions... but since you asked so nicely.

So Please post them in "Recordings" so we don't move them

Thanks

Well I moved it to "Recordings" because it is a "Recorded archive of a performances". Seems to fit EXACTLY to the title of the section no?

it's not the "Audio Recordings" section, right?

pfft, maybe the whole ambiguity can be avoided by calling it the 'recordings & videos' section. The video was posted in the spirit of discussing a player, not the recording. Either way, do what yoose want.

Fancy Band is fantastic. Caught them once their first tour and twice their second. One Better is one of the best songs on his latest record IMO.
