My vote would have to be an obvious one, Rush - Moving Pictures (Geddy Lee), i'd like to hear what everybody else thinks. this is for a full album. |

when i think of "bass albums" i think of albums that are built around the bass as the main focal instrument...
i would have to suggest anything by
OM
Joe Lally or
Jah Wobble.

other contenders:
FUGAZI- 13 songs, and Repeater... hell.. all of em.
Lungfish- Rainbows From Atoms and Sound in Time
Unwound - Fake Train
Herbie Hancock- Head Hunters
and of course ... Morphine.
not to forget Joy Division- Substance for its unique bass atmosphere

It's more a combination of the bass tone and the lines, than just the lines themselves, but the album is a great listen if you want to hear good bass.
I've also been listening to Dr. John's Gumbo a lot lately, and the Sun the Moon and the Herbs. IMO these two albums are required listening for a blues / soul / funk bass player. |

You need to listen to this" and cued up YYZ.
