Hey everyone, I'm a TB regular(somewhat) and I just received the final master of a drums and bass only metal band that I'm in. Have a listen and give me some feedback on the tone/overall sound ect.

Thanks y'all

This was recorded through an SVT-AV into a standard 810, an Orange Rockerverb 100 guitar amp into a Marshall 1969A cab as well as an SVT-200 into a Traynor 2x15.

Effects used were a mere modded TS-9. (thanks analogman!) It was recorded by us and mixed by Craig @ cbaudio.com and mastered by the one and only Alan Douches.

Glad to hear that y'all like it. Spread the word.

PS We've already played a few shows Beebass. I hear your band rules too meng. Thanks for keeping me tube in my darkest hours.

Not bad! I can't say I dig the vox (but then again, I've never liked death metal-type vocals), but the drums + bass sound is fairly brütäl. Rock on! \m/

That tone is amazing! Without guitar it leaves so much room for a huge sound.

Can you go into more detail about how this was recorded? Did you play through all of those amps that you mentioned simultaneously and then blend them together? Or did you multi-track different takes through different amps? How much of the distortion is coming from the amps and how much is from the pedal?

I played through them all simultaneously but ended up doubling the tracks (Left and Right). There was also a DI track in there somewhere. As far as mics go, there was a cheapo Apex 435 condenser on the 412, an SM57 and a D112 on the 810 and a Sennheiser 835 on the 15's. I think there was a room mic too but it didn't get used.

Mostly the distortion was ITB using the DI. The bass tracks weren't clean by any measure but we added some digitally cheating dirt to the DI just for good measure. Sounded great to me.
