It's a given that Les is incorporating his recent styles, but Tragedy's doesn't really resemble any of his recent solo stuff, at least in my opinion. It's basically an old school funk.
Ler/Jay brought quite a bit to the table as well for the album. They've all grown exponentially as musicians since the old Primus days and it really shows in the album as a whole. They're a completely rejuvenated band now that Jay's back, with Les even saying this is the most creative/fun Primus has ever been.
Just saying, wait to listen to the album as a whole. It's their most concise release to date. Some of their best mixes/production, definitely Les's best vocal work, and just incredible music. It's already one of my top Primus albums and that's just from a couple of listens.
