Hadrien Feraud- Bireli Electric Side

I just got the Bireli Lagrene Electric Side CD that features Hadrien and his band. Great CD. Shows that Hadrien can do much more than just play fast. Nice grooves on this one. If you think all Hadrien is about is playing fast, get over it. If you listen, you'll notice that he's not playing a bunch of BS. His notes are very precise and he's always in control and though fast I find him to be quite melodic. I can play quite fast, though not always as musical as I'd like. I do it because it's fun and that's how I hear things. Granted not every solo I take is burning, but when I'm playing I'm trying to reproduce what I hear in my head. Quite often what I hear is fast. So that's what I do. Nothing wrong with that. Anyway, I'm a big fan and this CD just makes me more of one.

Thanks for the tip. I've been quite disappointed in all the recordings I've heard of Hadrien up to this point, but I sure respect his chops. This sounds like it might be a better context to hear him in, so I'll pick it up!

Just like Victor Wooten with the Flecktones, some of these massive chops guys shine much more when put in a musical context that pairs their skill with good song writing and disciplined arrangements (IMO). I look forward to hearing this one!
